A high-profile church in Louisville has dismissed its pastor.
The Courier-Journal reports the New Vision Ministry Center board of directors announced the decision Sunday to dismiss John David Boggs. He had led the church through growth and controversy for nearly six years, the newspaper reported.
The governing board did not say why Boggs was being dismissed.
The newspaper said it tried unsuccessfully to reach Boggs.
Boggs has led the Pentecostal church through enormous growth, but he and his businesses have been named in several lawsuits and other complaints over roofing operations.
Boggs admitted making some mistakes, but also blamed others for many problems.
Church of God officials have stood by Boggs, saying he adequately explained and settled his business disputes.
